Shaun was called to the Bar by Peter Taylor, later Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, and in October 1990 he commenced a common law based pupillage at 8 Kings Bench Walk, Temple and practiced there until January 1993 when he moved back to North West to continue in Chambers there. At an early stage he developed work inside and outside the Northern circuit and is now also a member of the Midland Circuit also. Shaun Is married with three sons (and a daughter on the way) and lives In Cheshire. His wife practices as a Barrister a Liverpool based set of Chambers also. He has an interest in sports such as Rugby League/Union, skiing, scuba diving and water skiing. He is also a very keen chess player, previously captaining his school and representing his town and county at junior and senior level. Shaun has undertaken much work in general common law Including personal injury and family work of all types. He has begun to redevelop these areas as he Intends to establish a mixed practice. His emphasis of recent times has been In serious Crime of all types for some time now and is regularly briefed in such matters as Homicide / Rape / Robbery, Drug conspiracies / Fraud and General Court Martials. it is right to say that he is usually briefed on these matters that he conduct them alone and has acted as leading junior. He prosecutes and defends. He has had a great deal of experience In courts of all types with a number of significant reported Court of Appeal cases. |
